ABOUT CARL

Owner of Coastal Transit Services

Following  tertiary education at the University of Greenwich, I secured a full-time post at a local secondary school teaching Geography and Physical Education. In the following years, I taught and gained Qualified Teaching Status.

In 2006 I returned to college and completed formal qualifications to enable me to work as a Tree Surgeon. Some years later, I combined my love for teaching by delivering maths in a FE college with working practically with trees.

In 2011 I bought my first hovercraft and attended cruises in the South East. Four years later I became cruise organiser for the South East branch of the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain, developing  communication and safety systems which continue to prove successful.

I had the excellent opportunity to combine my teaching and hovercraft skills when I worked for Sky TV training Jack Whitehall to operate a hovercraft and serving as his stunt double in the series "A League of Their Own". This culminated in recreating the opening scene of the film "Layer Cake" on a hovercraft at Stoke Park!

Having gained over 200 hours of craft time split between cruising and commercial operation and gaining appropriate and suitable certification to work commercially, it was time purchase a second utility craft and further develop Coastal Transit Services.
